Many times a photo is worth a thousand words, so we have put together a series of photos which will give you a close up look at this unique farm tractor. We are very fortunate to have obtained some original factory photos and show you a few here. Production of the Empire at the Philadelphia, PA factory lasted from about October of 1946 until December of 1947 when major assembly came to an end. Several tractors were later assembly in 1948 and early 1949 from parts in stock.

Several Pilot models were built and tested prior to the final Model 88 being chosen for production. A few Prototype tractors were also built and tested for possible future use in the lineup.

The Model 88 Empire went into production in Oct of 1946 with approximately 3,000 being made prior to the introduction of the Model 90. Model 88 tractors used war surplus rebuilt Willys engines and drive trains.

The Model 90 Empire went into production about June of 1947 with major assembly ending about December 1, 1947. Many changes were made with engines and drive components now being supplied by Willys-Overland.

Few options were available for the Empire due to its short production cycle. One important option, the three-point hitch was available late.
